They know how to do the following methods: Place Value (valor posicional) *Students like this method because it organizes the numbers by place value. Algebraic Notation (Propiedad distributiva) Students are able to use the distributive property to multiply. This method is easier to use when multiplying 2 digit by 1 digit. Quick Method (Método Rápido) This is the traditional method for multiplying, but students don't usually prefer this method and choose one of the methods above!!!! This method can get complicated when they start multiplying more digits. Students will be able to draw an array or area model to represent a multiplication equation.

Students will learn new ways to add. The methods we will learn in class are different from what we learned in school.
For the first few lessons, students will be learning the value of a digit in a number up to the millions. This should be review from what they learned in 3rd grade. Yet, we will be working with larger numbers. Vocabulary:
